چکیده

A solar lentigo is a flat, sharply circumscribed patch. It can be round, oval or irregular in shape. Color varies from skincolored, brown to dark brown or black, and size varies from a few millimeters to several centimeters in diameter [1, 2]. It results from long-term exposure to Ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which causes local proliferation of epidermal melanocytes and accumulation of melanin within the keratinocytes [3]. Solar lentigos or lentigines are very common, especially in people over the age of 40 years. But the treatment of solar lentigos or lentigines without side effects such as postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), scars and recurrences are extremely difficult [4-6]. Therefore the authors introduce the new treatment of solar lentigo using Dr. Hoon Hur’s optimal melanocytic suicide-2(OMS-2) parameter with a high fluence 1064nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser without side effects or recurrences. The Treatment of Café Au Lait Spot Using Dr. Hoon Hur’s Golden Parameter Therapy

Café au lait spot (CALS) is a light or dark brown spot that has various sizes (diameter of 0.5cm-30cm). Solitary or multiple lesions may occur on any parts of body except palms and soles at birth or in infancy. Histopathologically, since nevus cell does not exist in CALS and CALS is not changed into malignant lesion, therefore CALS is a benign pigmented disease [1,2]. That said, treatment is no...

Treatment of a Congenital Melanocytic Nevus by New Combination Therapy: Intense Pulsed Light Therapy and Dr. Hoon Hur's Golden Parameter Therapy

A congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN) is present at birth in approximately 1% of newborn infants. Treating CMN with a single laser without complications is very difficult because of the deep-penetrating nature of the nevus cells in this lesion. A 51-year-old female patient presented with a single 8 cm x 14 cm sized dark brown to black plaque with scar on the left side of face. She received 10 tr...

A Case of Facial Partial Unilateral Lentiginosis Treated with Low-Fluence 1,064 nm Q-Switched Neodymium-Doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet Laser

Partial unilateral lentiginosis (PUL) is an unusual pigmentary disorder characterized by numerous lentigines grouped within an area of normal skin. Although treatment is not necessary, many patients with facial PUL seek medical help for cosmetic reasons. There is no established standard treatment for PUL. Conventional lasers may cause postinflammatory hyperpigmentation because keratinocytes are...

Treatment of lentigines by a novel high power diode laser at 755 nm: a case report

The use of high-power diode laser with a wavelength of 755 nm is an effective and safe method for the correction and partial and/or total elimination of pigmented lesions, specifically solar lentigines. This wavelength has yet not been used in diode lasers to treat solar lentigines. Side effects are the usual ones, including darkening and scab formation. Our patient was a 40-year-old woman of C...

Laser therapy of pigmented lesions: pro and contra.

Although frequently performed, laser removal of pigmented lesions still contains certain controversial issues. Epidermal pigmented lesions include solar lentigines, ephelides, café au lait macules and seborrheic keratoses. Dermal lesions include melanocytic nevi, blue nevi, drug induced hyperpigmentation and nevus of Ota and Ito. Some lesions exhibit both an epidermal and dermal component like ...
